What you will learn

Perfect for beginners and great for those with feltmaking experience, this course will teach you all the knowledge and skills you need to make high quality, evenly shaped Stunning Felted Vessels.

You will learn how to: - make 3D felt using a resist - build and then shape an even 3D structure using wet felting techniques - how to place surface design for great effect - make the inside colour different to the outside colour - use weighing and dividing wool to achieve a balanced and even vessel - make bigger or smaller vessels in the bonus section. The teaching is equivalent to a full one-day face-to-face workshop so I suggest allowing approximately four - five hours to complete it. You do not have to do it in one go!

  • How do I pay and why is the price shown in US dollars?

You can pay by credit card or Paypal through an easy checkout system. The online learning platform/Paypal only allow me to show a price is US dollars. The fees have been adjusted to reflect what the course would be in British pounds (my home currency!). For example: $49 = £35 approx and $69 = £49 approx. Exchange rates do vary but I monitor them.

  • How long do I have access to the course?

The course will be available for 12 months from the date that you sign up. You can view the course, for your own use, as many times as you like during this period. All courses have PDF Material & Equipment lists and Course notes which provide a summary of the processes you have learnt as a reminder for future use. Some courses also have PDF’s providing supplementary/bonus information. These are downloadable and available for you to print and keep. In the unlikely event that I have to close a course I will inform you and provide a period of time in which you can download the content.

  • Jennie, are you, as my teacher, available for feedback and questions about the course?

Join me and fellow students in the private Facebook group - Jennie Loader Studio Students - to share your projects, successes, questions, plus chat together and learn from each other. I have taught these courses many times over in face-to-face workshops and whilst I was developing their content I kept in mind all the questions that I have been asked by students over the years. The video lessons provide in-depth instructions, with hints, tips and extra information along the way. Therefore, you should be able to do them at your own pace, on your own, and achieve a good outcome. If you have a problem accessing your course/s or a general query you can email me via the support link in your personal learning account.

  • How long will the course take to complete and does the class ‘meet’?

Everyone works at their own pace and different courses will need different amounts of time to complete depending on the project and technique it is teaching. No, you will need to provide these yourself. My courses require easy to access materials and simple equipment to complete successfully. A PDF listing what you will need is available to view before purchasing any course (see the Course Content section).

  • In what order should I do the lessons.

Courses are designed for you to start at the beginning and work your way through until the end, building on your learning from the previous lesson. However, if you have experience of feltmaking you may wish to fast track through some sections. Bonus sections can be viewed at any time.

  • Can I use any device to view the course?

Yes you can. You can view the course on your phone, but some students may find this screen size a little small to benefit fully from the lessons. You will need a good internet connection in order to stream the videos which make up most of the lessons in this course.
